The San Diego County Employees Charitable Organization has been awarding grants to local nonprofits for more than 60 years, and it's set to do so again in 2024, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The organization, which is funded by the employees and retirees of the county, handed out $110,252 in grants in 2023 to 68 local nonprofit programs, including the Access Youth Academy, Backcountry Communities, Emilio Nares Neighborhood Healthcare, the Ocean Foundation, and Wounded Warrior Homes.
"The grants fund equipment, furnishings, and other durable goods that directly benefit the population being served by the county," according to the CECO website.
